Information Collection, Use and Sharing

We only have access to and collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to other parties.

We use your information in the following ways:

When you fill out a contact form on our website:

  • We use the information provided to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us.

  • We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organisation, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

  • When you fill out one of these forms, we will keep a backup of the data for a minimum of one year.

When you request updates or subscribe to The Smart Activist newsletter, we may contact you via email to send other updates and relevant news, talk about new programmes or services. We may also contact you via email to tell you about changes to this privacy policy.

When you join our list, we keep your data in our email platform (Squarespace) until you request that we remove your name and other data about you. You may change your preferences, subscribe, or unsubscribe at any time using the link in each newsletter we send.

We create metrics and data reports using our site visitors' browsing history, cookie tracking, and other similar tools. All user data in these reports is anonymous. Our reports and the associated data are kept on file for a minimum of one year, no more than two years. Generally, we delete the metrics and analytics data after each year's reporting is complete.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

To opt out of receiving email from us or to change email preferences, you can use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email we send.

You have the right to:

  • See what data we have about you, if any.

  • Change/correct any data we have about you.

  • Have us delete any data we have about you.

  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
